1. Who we are
This website, bijoyamukherji.com, is run by Bijoya Mukherji ("we", "us", "our"), who decides how your personal data is used. This policy applies to information we collect through the website, bookings, course purchases, corporate enquiries, email and WhatsApp. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, for visitors from the EU/UK, the GDPR.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Booking and purchase details: your name, email address, phone number, country, the session or course you choose, preferred dates and times, and anything you write in the notes or message fields.
- Corporate enquiries: your name, organisation, role, contact details, team size and programme requirements.
- Session information: anything you choose to share with us during a session or by message. We treat this as confidential.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Razorpay (India) and PayPal (international). Your card, UPI, bank or PayPal login details go directly to them. We never receive or store your full card or bank details. We keep only the payment reference, amount, currency and status so we can confirm your booking and issue receipts or refunds.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is recorded in server logs for security, for example to block repeated failed logins or abuse.
- Your country, worked out from your connection, so we can show prices in ₹ or $.
- Cookies: see section 7.
3. How we use your information
- To confirm, schedule and run your sessions, and to send video call links, reminders and receipts.
- To process payments and refunds and keep the financial records the law requires.
- To deliver course material and secure access links to you.
- To reply to your enquiries and prepare corporate proposals.
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud.
- To send occasional updates about our offerings, only where you have agreed. You can opt out at any time.
We rely on your consent, on the need to carry out our agreement with you, on legal obligations and on our legitimate interest in running a secure service. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with trusted service providers who help us run the service, and only as much as they need:
- Razorpay and PayPal: payment processing.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Supabase: secure database storage for bookings and enquiries.
- Our email provider: sending confirmations, receipts and course access.
- Video call and messaging tools (for example Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp): online sessions and communication.
We may also disclose information if the law, a court or a government authority requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers store or process data outside India, for example in the United States or the EU. Where this happens, we rely on the providers' own safeguards and contractual protections for your data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires (generally up to 8 years). We keep enquiries that don't lead to a booking for up to 2 years. Course access links expire automatically at the end of the access period. After these periods, we delete or anonymise your data.
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies, needed for the website to work, for example to keep you signed in to a course you bought or to protect forms from abuse. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Payment pages from Razorpay and PayPal may set their own cookies, covered by their privacy policies.
8. How we protect it
All connections to the website are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to booking data is password-protected and limited to us. Course links are protected with passwords, which we store only in hashed form. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted, unless we must keep it by law (for example payment records);
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example to marketing messages;
- object to or restrict certain uses of your data;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated (India);
- complain to a data protection authority, such as the Data Protection Board of India or, in the EU/UK, your local supervisory authority.
To use any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will reply within 30 days.
10. Children
Our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us their data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed. If the changes are significant, we will let you know by email where appropriate.
